Pedestrian, 17, hit by van dies

A teenage pedestrian has died after a collision with a van on a main road in Perthshire on Tuesday evening.

The 17-year-old man was struck on the A9, at the south end of Pitlochry, at about 1740 GMT.

Tayside Police said the pedestrian died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Officers said they were continuing their inquiries and made a request for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
