A reward has been offered following a robbery outside a Glasgow bank where a bag containing about £50,000 was stolen from a pensioner. The 78-year-old businessman was knocked to the ground and robbed as he crossed a road near the Royal Bank of Scotland branch in Cardonald last week. Police said an anonymous donor was offering a substantial reward. The elderly man received minor injuries and was left badly shaken by the incident. Police said the area around the bank was busy when the robbery happened at about 1035 BST on Thursday. The suspect was described as white, in his late 30s or late 40s, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall, stocky and well built. He was wearing a navy blue, polo t-shirt and navy blue, cargo style trousers, covered in spots of paint and padded at the knees. One passer-by attempted to follow the suspect down Cardonald Place Road into Berwick Drive where the suspect jumped into a white van.
