Stag calls prompt searches

A mountain rescue team called out twice to investigate shrill whistling suspect it was the call of deer and not walkers in distress. Wildlife experts have advised the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team that two separate fruitless searches may have been prompted by Sika stags.

The animals make a whistling sound as a warning and during mating season.
