A church in Glasgow has been badly damaged by fire.

At the height of the blaze, eight fire appliances and 40 firefighters were at the blaze at Langside Parish Church in the south side of the city.

The fire service said its control centre was inundated with calls reporting the fire at the single-storey building, at about 1900 BST on Friday.

No-one was hurt and a joint police and fire service investigation into the cause of the fire was under way.
