Anna Watt of 'Fran and Anna' dies

Anna Watt, one half of the Scottish sibling variety act Fran and Anna, has died at the age of 85.

She died at St Andrew's Hospice in Airdrie. Her elder sister, Fran, died in October 2003, aged 81.

The pair came to prominence with their music-hall singing and dancing act in the 1950s.

They became household names in the early 1970s with the STV show, "Thingummyjig". They last performed in 2002 at Glasgow's Pavilion Theatre.
