Woman dies after ambulance crash

An elderly woman has died after being injured when the ambulance she was travelling in crashed in Renfrewshire.

May Jean Morris was a passenger in the patient transfer ambulance when it collided with two other vehicles on Renfrew Road on 10 December.

The 78-year-old, from Paisley, was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital and transferred to the Western Infirmary where she died on Saturday.

A post-mortem will be carried out and police were investigating the crash.
