A postman has been jailed for 18 months for hiding a camera inside a bedside clock to film a woman undressing.

James Davies, 25, of Swansea, bought the alarm clock on eBay for £30 then gave it to the woman as a present. He was then able to download the images.

He was caught when the woman became suspicious and found the camera device. Police raided Davies's home and found thousands of images on his computer.

Davies was sentenced after admitting voyeurism at Swansea Crown Court.

He also admitted 15 other offences of making indecent photographs of young girls.

He had to leave his postman job and must also register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Prosecutor Huw Rees said: "Davies gave her a bedside clock which contained a covert camera.

"He acquired thousands of moving images of her by downloading them from the device to his computer."

Mr Rees said the woman became suspicious about the camera when she received text messages containing comments about her clothing.

"The police became involved shortly after she discovered the secret camera which Davies had bought on eBay," he added.

Judge Patrick Curran QC, sentencing, told Davies: "The harm inherent in offences of voyeurism is the intrusion of a victim's privacy."
