Police name house fire death man

A man who died after a house fire in East Renfrewshire has been named as 50-year-old Alan Campbell.

Emergency services were called to the house in Printers Land, Clarkston, at about 1630 BST on Wednesday.

Mr Campbell was rescued by firefighters and taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

Strathclyde Police said the cause of the fire was not being treated as suspicious. A full report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
