Life term for wife axe-murder man

A man has been jailed for life for murdering his wife with an axe at their home in Bonnyrigg in Midlothian.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard how Emrys Taylor, 65, dialled 999 after killing Lillian, 43, in April.

The couple, who were both keen rugby fans, had argued about a forthcoming trip to see a match.

The Judge Lord Kinclaven ordered Taylor - who is originally from Hengoed Caerphilly in Wales - to spend at least 12 and a half years in jail.
