Accident victims named by police

A man and a woman who died in an accident in South Lanarkshire have been named by police.

Stephen Jardine, 25, was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer which was in collision with a Peugeot 106, driven by 18-year-old Laura Leghorn.

Both drivers, who were from Carluke, died as a result of the accident which happened on the A721 in Carluke at about 1355 BST on Sunday.

Strathclyde Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash.
