Teenage boys rescued from river

Two teenage boys have been rescued from a river in Perthshire after wading out too far while fishing.

The 14-year-olds were angling in the River Tummel near Logierait at about 1830 BST on Thursday when the alarm was raised.

Police and firefighters attended and helped the youths back to the bank with the aid of lines.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said the teenagers were cold and tired but did not need medical attention.
