Murder charge over street death

Charles Bowman died after a "large scale" disturbance last month

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a man in a disturbance in the east end of Glasgow.

Stephen Carmichael, from Glasgow, is accused of killing Charles Bowman, 32, in the east end of the city on Sunday 27 July.

The 22-year-old is alleged to have stabbed Mr Bowman in Carmyle Avenue at about 1820 BST.

Mr Carmichael appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court where he made no plea and was remanded in custody.

Mr Bowman was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital and four others were injured.
