Scots lottery winners scoop £950m
National Lottery ticket
Glasgow has the second highest number of lottery millionaires
Lottery winners have scooped almost £950m in prize money in Scotland since the game began, it has been revealed.

The National Lottery, launched 13 years ago, has created 204 millionaires in Scotland to date.

Players in the central belt have been the biggest winners, taking home more than £600m.

Glasgow ranks third among UK cities for the biggest pay-out of large prizes at almost £261m, with only Newcastle and Birmingham winning more.

Glasgow also has the second highest number of millionaires in the country, behind only Birmingham.

Top prize

Perth was the only Scottish city to make it into the National Lottery's top 10 luckiest postal towns, according to data on the number of prize-winning entries per adult player population.

Figures revealed on Sunday showed that one in 9,423 of the UK's playing population has won a share of a National Lottery jackpot.

In August Royal Mail worker Angela Kelly, from Glasgow, scooped the entire £35m jackpot on EuroMillions.

Mark Page from Dundee won almost £5m after winning the Lotto top prize the same month.
