Explosion rocks chemical factory
Fire at ex-ICI plant
The flames can be seen from 10 miles away
More than 10 fire engines have been called to a large fire at a former chemical factory in Ayrshire.

Initial eyewitness reports say flames are leaping around 100ft (30.48m) high in the air.

The fire brigade has confirmed that 10 fire engines and three special appliances are at the former ICI factory in Stevenston, near Irvine.

Officers say they are dealing with a chemical explosion involving flammable nitro-cellulose.
