Website warns of climate impact
Flooding
The country has experienced a wetter than usual summer
A new website which offers information about climate change and its impact on Scotland has been launched.

The Scottish Climate Change Impacts Partnership site aims to help organisations plan for the effects of global warming.

It has been funded by the Scottish government and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

The website will provide updates on climate change research, and promote understanding of climate science.

Climate Change Minister Stewart Stevenson said: "Even with our ambitious targets for reducing emissions, change to Scotland's climate is unavoidable.

"It's essential that we understand the challenges, including increased flood risks, and the potential opportunities, such as a longer growing season, that a changing climate will bring."
