Crash investigators
In the first incident, a Fiat Punto came off the A95 Aviemore to Grantown on Spey road.
Two people, who had been travelling in the car, were treated by medics but Northern Constabulary said one man died from his injuries.
After the Stirlingshire incident, the A9 was closed for five hours to allow crash investigators onto the scene.
The A914 Cupar to Pitlessie road was closed after the third incident but has now reopened.
Police, who have appealed for witnesses, will not reveal details of the deceased until relatives have been informed.
Earlier, a 46-year-old man was seriously injured when he was hit by a car on Guild Street in Aberdeen.
Grampian Police have appealed for witnesses after the man was hit by a red Vauxhall Astra as he crossed the road between two stationary buses at about 2000 GMT.
