Exam art to tour Scotland on bus

A travelling art gallery using the best work submitted by young artists for this year's Scottish exams is to start a tour of the country.

The Scottish Qualifications Authority will launch the collection at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

A bus adapted to house the gallery will travel across Scotland for seven weeks, visiting 60 schools.

The tour will be launched on Monday by Robert Brown, the deputy minister for education and young people.

Mr Brown said: "The Inspirational Art Tour will give people the length and breadth of Scotland an opportunity to see and celebrate the creativity and talent of our pupils."

The tour aims to inspire future art candidates and showcase the work of this year's pupils and their teachers.

SQA's interim chief executive Tom Drake said: "The Inspirational Art Tour brings together the very best of the work produced by over 33,000 Scottish students this year."
