Jenni Falconer will present the awards at Stirling Castle
The nominations for the first Scottish Fashion Awards have been announced.

There are nine awards categories, honouring designers, retailers, models, textile manufacturers and fashion stylists.

The finalists will be judged by a panel and announced at a star-studded ceremony hosted by TV personality Jenni Falconer at Stirling Castle on 7 May.

Nominees include model Kirsty Hume, cashmere designer Belinda Robertson and the Ultimo brand, run by Michelle Mone.

The awards will also honour two individuals being inducted into the Scottish Fashion Awards Hall of Fame.

The first is late designer Bill Gibb, who revolutionised the British fashion during the 1970s and 80s, dressing the likes of Twiggy, Bianca Jagger and Elizabeth Taylor.

Born in Fraserburgh, he was the only Scot to have been awarded Vogue Designer of the Year.

The second is photographer Albert Watson, whose images have appeared on more than 250 Vogue covers.

Though blind in one eye, Albert studied graphic design at the College of Art in Dundee and film at the Royal College of Art in London.

Each winner will receive a handcrafted art piece specially designed by internationally-renowned Scottish sculptor Andy Scott.
