Echo and the Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch will stand trial accused of assaulting two fans at a concert in Glasgow's Barrowland venue.
McCulloch, 46, allegedly attacked Gary Duncan and Juliet Sebley after a gig last October.
The singer pleaded not guilty by letter to two charges of assault and a third of breach of the peace when the case was called at Glasgow District Court.
The hearing was adjourned until September for trial.
Mr McCulloch is charged with kicking open a toilet door which struck Miss Sebley on the head.
He is also alleged to have repeatedly pushed Mr Duncan.
He denies a third charge of a breach of the peace by shouting, swearing and uttering threats at the pair.
