A pair of ospreys have returned to the Loch Garten Osprey Centre in Strathspey.
Last year the pair produced a number of eggs but failed to raise any chicks after the male deserted the nest.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds said last year's efforts turned into something of a soap opera, as other males appeared on the scene.
The centre will not open for public viewing until Saturday to allow the birds to settle in.
