Police investigate hospital death
Methadone poured
Kieran Nichol died after being given methadone
Police are investigating the death of a man at a Borders private hospital.

Kieran Nichol, 20, from Hawick, died at Castle Craig residential hospital after being given methadone - despite the fact he was not a heroin addict.

A spokesman for the West Linton clinic refused to comment on reports that staff had been suspended - and doctors banned from prescribing the drug.

A statement said the hospital could not comment on the treatment or medical conditions of patients.
