Police investigating the abduction of an accountant in Glasgow have made a public appeal to 50,000 football fans.

A 15-second appeal for information on the abduction of Andrew Ramsay appeared on large screens during half-time at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday.

Mr Ramsay, 51, was abducted more than two weeks ago near his Cardonald home on the night of a Rangers match.

Police said the area was busy at the time of the abduction and hoped the appeal would jogs fans' memories.

Numerous appeals and a reconstruction have been unable to trace witnesses to the abduction.

The appeal was shown during Rangers' home match against Kilmarnock.

Witness appeal

Mr Ramsay was walking with his partner Beverley in Berryknowes Road on Wednesday 22 February when he was abducted.

He was bundled into a black car by two men posing as police officers who told him he was under arrest.

Det Supt Willie Prendergast said: "Around the time the area would have been busy with motorists and pedestrians making their way to the Rangers-Villarreal match.

"I hope this appeal may jog the memories of people who may have unwittingly witnessed something vital to this inquiry."

He added: "I would urge anyone who may have details on Mr Ramsay's whereabouts or anyone with any information to contact the incident room."
