Probe after bones found in park
Holyrood park
Part of Edinburgh's Holyrood park has been cordoned off
Police have cordoned off an area in Edinburgh's Holyrood Park after human remains were found.

The bones, which were discovered in a nature reserve on the south east side of the park, will be examined on Tuesday by a pathologist.

It is understood they were discovered by Historic Scotland staff, the agency which oversees the park.

Police said an investigation was under way but that there was nothing to suggest anything untoward so far.

A spokesman for Historic Scotland confirmed that the find was made near the park's Duddingston Loch.
