Stabbed law man returns to work

A senior Edinburgh legal accountant who was stabbed outside his home in Edinburgh is back at work part-time.

Leslie Cumming, 62, was attacked on 23 January outside his home in the city's Murrayfield Drive.

Mr Cumming, a chief accountant of the Law Society of Scotland for 26 years, was stabbed several times in the body and received cuts to his face.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman urged witnesses to come forward saying "enquiries are still ongoing".

The Law Society of Scotland: "We are glad to confirm that Les Cumming is recovering well and is back working part-time with the Law Society of Scotland."

Stabbed outside garage

Mr Cumming was stabbed as he locked his garage in the lane where the attacker was seen lurking, behind his £500,000 garden flat.

He received treatment at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

The attacker ran off towards Ormidale Terrace and the Roseburn area after the stabbing just after 1700 GMT.

The suspect was described as being in his 20s, of stocky build and was wearing dark clothing and a dark balaclava.
