Fourth arrest in shooting inquiry

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting which took place in Glasgow last year.

Richard Holmes, 25, died after being shot in the Royston area of the city on 31 October, 2004.

Strathclyde Police confirmed that a 26-year-old man was being held for questioning. He was expected to appear in court on Thursday.

Police added that it was the fourth and final expected arrest by detectives who have been working on the inquiry.

Dutch police arrested a 38-year-old man in Amsterdam last month.

The Crown Office was applying to the Dutch authorities to have the suspect extradited to Scotland.

Stephen Keenan, 44, of Coll Street in the Germiston area of Glasgow, was charged in April with Holmes' murder.

Another man, Barry Thomson, 45, of Dumbarton Road, Glasgow, has been charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
