A skin specialist at the main hospital in the Highlands has been suspended amid allegations of indecently assaulting two women patients.

Keith Woo, 35, a consultant dermatologist at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, has been charged by police over the alleged incidents.

Dr Woo, who trained in Australia and qualified in 1996, was believed to be on "emergency leave" from his post.

NHS Highland said it could not comment on internal disciplinary matters.

Two women are believed to have made their allegations after appointments for skin disorders. One of the patients complained about Dr Woo's behaviour last September.

A Northern Constabulary spokesman said: "A 35-year-old man is the subject of a report to the fiscal in Inverness in connection with charges of alleged indecent assault."
