An elderly man has died in a fire in a tower block in Glasgow.
Firefighters were called to the tower block on Saturday morning
Emergency crews were called to the property in the Ruchill area of the city at 0600 GMT on Saturday following reports of a smell of burning.
Firefighters tackled a blaze in a flat on the 14th floor of the building in Wester Common Road.
A man was pulled from the flat by rescue teams but efforts to revive him failed. An investigation has begun to establish the cause of the blaze.
Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said the man's home was fitted with a smoke alarm, which was activated during the blaze and alerted a number of neighbours.
