Jail for man who whipped teenager
Edinburgh High Court
The court heard of the attacker's sado-masochistic fantasies
A man has been jailed for six years for abducting and sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

David Corless, a former property manager with a law firm in Aberdeen, admitted whipping the 19-year-old.

He tied his victim to a homemade frame constructed from wood and metal, cut off her clothes and attacked her.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, judge Lord Glennie placed 51-year-old Corless, a first-time offender, on the sex offenders' register.

He told Corless he had caused his young victim "humiliation, fear and distress" and that he was a danger to the public who would be kept under strict supervision after serving his sentence.

The court was told he kidnapped the teenager from a house in Aberdeen in August and subjected her to a degrading assault, leaving her bound while he built the frame he tied her to.

Phone call

During her ordeal, the girl twice asked if she was going to be killed but her attacker punched her in the stomach and told her to shut up.

The girl escaped after she was able to make a phone call .

The court heard he "flipped out" and gave in to sado-masochistic fantasies he had harboured for years.

Corless said, when questioned by police, that he had been suppressing sado-masochistic tendencies since he was a teenager.
