Having haemophilia is a painful genetic condition in itself, where the sufferer has spontaneous bleeds into muscles and joints as well as externally.

However, through the use of Factor VIII blood products it has come under control.
When I was about six years old, while being treated at the Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow, I received an injection that would change my life forever.
It was an American product that seemed much like any other.
However, it was in fact, loaded with hepatitis and HIV.
I wasn't told of the HIV until I was 14, and then the hepatitis C some six years later.
I went completely off the rails and thought I would die. I remember seeing the falling gravestones on the TV campaign of the time and thinking mine would be next.
By some miracle I have remained relatively well until I was 28, when I was diagnosed with Aids-related cancer.
However, it seems I have beaten that too. I think somebody must be looking out for me.
Stop the bleeding
All of this is terribly hard to deal with, all the more so considering I now know it to be a disgraceful cover up.
Money was put before safety and thousands of haemophiliacs and blood transfusion recipients will have been effectively murdered.
Despite years of trying and writing to every MP, MSP, MEP, the police, doctors, parliamentary ombudsmen, the Legal Aid Board, Petitions Committee, you name it we've tried it; consistently every political and legal avenue has been closed to us.
None of us has any money and we're refused legal aid so what are we to do?
All we want is truth and justice.
These are the very things the government will do anything to avoid, because there are too many high ranking politicians, top civil servants and pharmaceutical companies that would face criminal proceedings and huge compensation payouts should the truth come out.
Of course I didn't know any of this as a child putting my arms out for injections to stop the bleeding.
