Climbers were 'unaware of search'
The men were climbing in the Torridon mountains
Two hillwalkers who were reported missing for three days in the Torridon mountain range, Wester Ross, have been found safe and well.

The men, who were climbing in the Beinn Eighe area, had failed to meet up with friends at a pre-arranged place.

However, it is understood they were not in any trouble and that the alarm was raised because of a misunderstanding.

One man was brought down the mountain to be interviewed by police, but both are now continuing their expedition.

The pair, one of them a mountain leader, were still climbing when they were found on Monday morning.

They were unaware a major search had begun for them.

Rescue team

The hillwalkers had initially been said to have arranged a rendezvous with other friends at a bothy on Friday night.

When they did not turn up, a search began of the area where they had been climbing.

Members of the Torridon Mountain Rescue Team, a helicopter and rescue dogs were involved in the search.

Neil Hinchcliffe, the leader of the Torridon Rescue Team, said the call out was all down to bad communications between the two parties.

He said they should have been aware the alarm was likely to be raised when they did not keep their rendezvous.
