The funeral of a woman murdered after she dropped her daughter off at school has been held in Glasgow.

Hundreds of people attended the service for 34-year-old Farah Noor Adams at the city's Central Mosque on Friday.

Ms Adams' body was discovered on a path near the River Kelvin a week ago. Police believe she had gone "power walking".

An 18-year-old appeared in court on Wednesday charged with raping and murdering her.

The service at the mosque in Ballater Street was followed by a private funeral at Linn Cemetery.

Strathclyde Police said Ms Adams' family wished to thank the media for respecting their privacy during the past week.

Ms Adams was from a large Pakistani family who live in the Glasgow area.

She lived with her eight-year-old daughter in their flat in Colebrook Street, in the city's west end.
