Man arrested over infant's death

The baby was taken into hospital last Friday, police said

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a nine-month-old baby girl, police said.

The infant was admitted to Yorkhill Hospital, in Glasgow, last Friday but died two days later.

Strathclyde Police has not revealed the cause of death. The force said a 33-year-old man, thought to be from the Pollokshields area, has been detained.

They said a 32-year-old woman was arrested over related offences but she is not in custody.

It is thought the man will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A full report was due to be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
