Gun fired outside city nightclub
Police in Glasgow are looking for man in his 20s who fired a gun outside a nightclub early on Wednesday morning.

A 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were hurt when the weapon, believed to be a shotgun, was fired in Sauchiehall Street at about 0315 BST.

Neither was seriously injured but the man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to his hand.

Detectives say the street would have been busy at the time and would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

Innocent bystanders

The disturbance took place outside Blanket in the city centre.

The woman was hurt in the chest area but her injuries were not serious and she did not attend hospital, said Strathclyde Police.

The man and the woman were not together, it is thought, and may have been innocent bystanders.

They are not believed to have been inside the club before the incident.

The suspect is male, in his mid to late 20s, 6ft, of medium build and athletic appearance with short dark hair.

He wore light coloured T-shirt and trousers.

Investigating officer Det Insp Billy Little said: "I would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity and may have witnessed some sort of altercation between a group of people."
