Man held over student window fall

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court after a Korean woman student fractured her skull falling from a first-floor window in Aberdeen.

Erik-Lee Cameron appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court is in connection with the incident on Wednesday night and a series of other offences.

The Aberdeen University student fell from the office window after she was allegedly confronted by an intruder.

The 42-year-old is being treated in hospital for head injuries.

A Crown Office spokeswoman said that Mr Cameron had appeared in court in connection with a number of charges, including abduction, robbery and housebreaking.

She added that Mr Cameron made no plea, was committed for further inquiry and was remanded in custody.

He is expected to appear again in seven days.
