The brother of the youth accused of murdering Midlothian schoolgirl Jodi Jones has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
Lothian and Borders Police said the 22-year-old man would be the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.
The pair's mother, 45, was also charged with perverting the course of justice and later released pending further inquiries.
The 14-year-old schoolgirl's mutilated body was discovered in woodland near to her home in Easthouses last summer.
The 15-year-old boy accused of Jodi's murder is due to appear in court again in about a week's time for a second private hearing.
Jodi's body was found near a wooded path in the Newbattle area of Dalkeith on 30 June.
Her mother Judy had become anxious when the teenager failed to return home after going out to meet her boyfriend.
Friends and family began a search for Jodi, and her body was discovered a short time later.
