Musicians robbed of instruments

Police have issued an appeal for information

Two musicians have been beaten up and had their instruments stolen in the Leith area of Edinburgh.

The two men, both in their 20s, were walking on London Road on Sunday when they were attacked by two other men.

A case containing two clarinets worth more than £4,000 was snatched by the thieves and one victim needed hospital treatment.

Lothian and Borders Police have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

The instrument case is described as having a distinctive "Scottish Chamber Orchestra" sticker on the side.
