A EuroMillions ticket bought in Britain has scooped the jackpot for the first time, UK lottery operator Camelot says.
Camelot said the unknown ticketholder won £16.7m - the biggest prize since the draw was launched in February.
The draw links the UK lottery to its equivalents in France and Spain - where previous winning tickets were bought.
It is the sixth richest prize in UK lottery history.
The £22.6m prize won by Mark Gardiner and Paul Maddison, of East Sussex, in 1995 remains the record
To win the jackpot, players need to match five main numbers from 1 to 50 - and
2 Lucky Star numbers from 1 to 9.
