Ice Cream War apology demanded
Thomas TC Campbell and Joe Steele
Mr Steele and Mr Campbell were cleared on Wednesday
One of the men cleared of the notorious Glasgow Ice Cream War killings has demanded an immediate apology from Strathclyde Police.

Thomas TC Campbell went to the force's headquarters on the city's Pitt Street with his lawyer and asked for a meeting with Chief Constable Willie Rae.

Mr Campbell also wants an independent public inquiry into the prosecution.

He was told the chief constable was not available but talks were not ruled out at a future date.

Earlier this week, judges quashed the convictions of Mr Campbell and Joe Steele for the so-called Ice Cream War murders 20 years ago.

The ruling at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh found the men were victims of a miscarriage of justice.

They had been convicted of murdering six members of the Doyle family at their Glasgow home in a turf war over areas served by ice cream vans.

The pair always pleaded innocence and were released on their third appeal.
