Lawyer denies bomb scare charge
Raj Jandoo
Mr Jandoo appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court
One of Scotland's top lawyers has denied charges related to a bomb scare on board a plane bound for Stornoway.

Raj Jandoo was arrested when the British Airways flight from Edinburgh landed on Lewis on Monday evening.

He is best known for writing a report into allegations of racism surrounding the case of murdered Asian waiter Surjit Singh Chhokar.

At Stornoway Sheriff Court on Tuesday Mr Jandoo denied acting in a manner likely to endanger an aircraft.

It is alleged he made reference to a bomb while the plane was on the tarmac in Inverness and again while en route to Stornoway and that he repeatedly pressed the buttons on his watch.

The trial of Mr Jandoo, who was released on bail, has been set for 1 June.
