A driver has appeared in court accused of causing the death of an eight-year-old boy by dangerous driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The crash happened on the edge of Aberdeen
David Jones, of no fixed address, was also charged with driving while disqualified and without insurance, failing to stop following an accident and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Stephan Henderson, a pupil at the city's Donbank Primary School, was killed in the crash on the outskirts of Aberdeen on Tuesday night.
His two young brothers were taken to hospital for treatment.
The unclassified road at Newton Farm between Craigton Road and Countesswells Road was closed following the accident.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard that Mr Jones faces further charges of being unfit to drive the day after the crash.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
