The wife of the former Scotland star was in intensive care for two months

A surgeon whose operation left the wife of former Scotland captain Colin Hendry fighting for her life has been struck off the medical register.
Denise Hendry was in intensive care for nearly two months after becoming unwell following cosmetic surgery at the private Broughton Park Hospital in Lancashire.
She had booked into the hospital for a routine 'tummy tuck' operation.
But Mrs Hendry required treatment for septicaemia at the Royal Preston Hospital after falling ill just two days after the procedure on 10 April, 2002.
The General Medical Council said the surgeon involved, Dr Gustaf Aniansson, had applied for voluntary erasure from the register which had been granted - meaning he will no longer be able to practise as a doctor in the UK.
The surgeon was being investigated by the GMC after being referred to them by concerned colleagues at Royal Preston Hospital following Mrs Hendry's operation.
Mr Hendry lives with his wife and their four young children in Lytham St Anne's, in Lancashire.
