El Hadji-Diouf: Apologised after match
The charge came to light when the case called at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.
The Senegal striker is accused of assaulting Dominic Schiavone during the match at Parkhead which ended in a 1-1 draw.
The 22 year-old, of Broadacre Close, Liverpool, was excused attendance at the court hearing before Sheriff Craig Henry.
No plea was made and the case was adjourned until Friday, 30 May.
The incident led to a police investigation after which the player, who has apologised to Mr Schiavone, was charged.
Uefa's disciplinary panel decided that El Hadji-Diouf had been incited by supporters and fined Celtic £2,300.
