Body probe rules out foul play
Police have ruled out foul play after a man's body was found on a footpath in Fife.

The body was discovered near the Lomond Centre in Glenrothes at about 0400 GMT on Sunday.

Police have identified the man as Andrew Muir, 24, of Markinch, Fife.

He had not been carrying any identification and at first police believed his death may have been suspicious.

The footpath between Auchmuty and Woodside was sealed off as officers carried out a forensic examination.

But a police spokesman has now revealed Mr Muir died as the result of an accident.

"This death appears to be accidental and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal at Kirkcaldy," he added.
