Man 'stable' after city shooting
Petrol station
The victim made it to a petrol station
A second shooting in just two days in the Glasgow area is being investigated by police.

A man was shot as he sat in his car in the city's West End in the early hours of Friday morning.

Despite his injuries, the victim managed to make it to a petrol station to raise the alarm.

William Fargher
William Fargher: Shot in the stomach
The 25-year-old was taken to hospital at about 0045 BST after the incident in Castlebank Street, Partick.

He was said to be in a stable condition in the city's Western Infirmary after receiving treatment for his injuries.

The incident came after a man was gunned down in the street on Wednesday in an attack described as "shocking and cowardly" by police.

William Fargher, 38, died after he was shot in the stomach at close range while walking along Cashmere Avenue, in Linwood, near Paisley.

Two men had approached the victim from behind.

An argument followed and one of the men shot Mr Fargher, before the attackers fled in a gold-coloured Peugeot 405 car driven by a third man.

Mr Fargher was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, where he died from his injuries.

Police said there was nothing to indicate a link between the two incidents.
