PC suspended over child porn
internet
The officer's computer and software were seized
A police officer has been suspended from duty as part of an investigation into child pornography on the internet.

Officers removed computer equipment and software from the 29-year-old constable's Aberdeen home.

In a statement a spokesman for Grampian Police said their inquiries are continuing and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

It is understood his suspension is part of a wider international investigation into the use of images of children on the internet.

Indecent photographs

The force has declined to comment further.

The constable was suspended "pending an investigation into a possible contravention of section 52 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982", the police spokesman said.

Section 52 of the Civic Government Act relates to the possession of indecent photographs of children.
