Man admits raping 10-year-old girl
High Court in Edinburgh
Sentence was deferred for background reports
A man has admitted raping a 10-year-old girl during a party at a house in Aberdeen.

Duncan Houston, 38, also pleaded guilty to indecent behaviour with another girl two years ago and performing an indecent assault on a 16-year-old boy in April this year.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard that police had been called in after Houston confessed to his wife about his encounter with the boy.

Advocate Charles Boag-Thomson QC, defending, told the court that Houston had admitted the offences so that none of his victims would have to give evidence.

Background reports

Houston, formerly of Cummings Park Crescent, Aberdeen, sneaked into the girl's bedroom in a house in Aberdeen on Hogmanay 2000.

She woke to find him pulling up her nightdress and was so frightened she pretended to be asleep while he raped her.

Houston sat with his head in his hands as the judge Lady Smith was given the details of what he had done.

The judge deferred sentence until next month for background reports.
