Headteacher suspends daughter
Gordonstoun
The girls admitted consuming alcohol
The headmaster of a top Scottish school has taken disciplinary action against his own daughter after she admitted drinking alcohol with another pupil.

Mark Pyper, 54, gave his 16-year-old daughter Sarah a two-week suspension from all social activities at Gordonstoun School, in Moray, near Elgin.

The 420-pupil school, which educated Prince Philip and his three sons, took similar action against the other 16-year-old girl.

Both will not be allowed to have any social contact with their peers during the suspension which comes to an end this weekend.

It is believed that the two girls consumed the alcohol on school premises earlier this month.

Mr Pyper decided to take disciplinary action after they owned up to a teacher at the 18,750-a-year school in Moray.

A spokeswoman for Gordonstoun said Mr Pyper treated his children the same as other pupils at the school.

She said: "We operate a strict policy on drugs, alcohol and smoking and we don't relax the rules for anybody.

"It is not the sort of thing we allow in the school.

"The girls were very honest about what they had done and gave themselves up. They very much regret their actions."

Mr Pyper has another daughter and son at Gordonstoun.
