Crew saved from sinking trawler
Rescue helicopter
Pumps were passed to the crew by helicopter
Six crew members have been rescued after their trawler began taking in water 80 miles off the north east coast of Scotland.

Coastguards said that the alarm was raised at 0215 BST on Saturday by the crew of the wooden-hulled Constant Faith.

Those on the vessel, which sails out of Peterhead, reported that water was coming on board.

A second vessel, the Fraserburgh-registered Conquest, then came alongside the Constant Faith.

It took four crew members from the stricken boat on board.

Two other men remained with the trawler to receive pumps, which were handed over by coastguards via a helicopter.

However, they abandoned the boat shortly before it began sinking at around 0600 and were also taken on board the Conquest.

The crew were being taken back to port at Fraserburgh.
