Missing girls found safe and well
Tayside police
Tayside police are appealing for information
Two teenage girls, missing from home for five days, have been found safe and well.

A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said Laurie Moore and Claire Brown, both 14, had been located in England.

She said: "They have been found safe and well by officers in West Yorkshire.

"They were located as a result of press appeals to the public for help."

Inquiries into how the girls came to be so far from their homes in Arbroath are ongoing, she added.

Initial investigations showed the girls may have met up with the driver of a white Vauxhall Cavalier and gone to the Newcastle/Gateshead or Nottingham areas.

The girls met at around 1745BST on Tuesday and had been due to return home by 2130BST, said police.

One of their parents contacted the police later the same evening and a full-scale search was launched.
