Snow and ice round-up
School closed by snow
Many schools are closed for a third day
The effects of three days of severe weather is causing problems across Scotland.

In Shetland the island's two main supermarkets are now running short of fresh produce.

There have been no deliveries from the mainland since Saturday because of the disruption to the ferries.

The islands' main hospital - the Gilbert Bain in Lerwick - is also running short of beds.

Ferry docking
Ferry travel to and from the northern isles has been hampered
Schools on the island have been closed for three days and public transport has been unable to operate.

Train travel has also been seriously hampered in many parts.

ScotRail has announced that, due to landslides between Larbert and Stirling, local services from Glasgow or Edinburgh to Dunblane will run only as far as Larbert, with a connecting bus to Stirling, Bridge of Allan and Dunblane.

Travellers between Glasgow and Aberdeen or between Glasgow and Inverness are advised to go via Edinburgh. Glasgow - Aberdeen and Glasgow - Inverness trains will be unable to run south of Stirling.

There are no services north of Inverness after two trains got stuck in 10ft snow drifts near Kinbrace.

Services on the Edinburgh to Inverness line have also been subject to delays and cancellation following a derailment at Blair Atholl.

Around 120 schools in Grampian are closed, many for a third day and there are also a number of closures at schools in Moray.

On the roads, conditions are reported to be poor in the far north of the country due to further heavy falls of snow.
